Role overview

Join our innovative team at Atmose as an R&D Engineer/Scientist, where you’ll contribute to developing groundbreaking products in aerosol science and air-quality monitoring, addressing some of the most important health and environmental concerns of our time. Working closely with Atmose’s experienced engineering and scientific team, you will:

  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate cutting-edge aerosol instrumentation.

  • Develop and optimize aerosol sampling and measurement techniques.

  • Analyze and visualize complex datasets using advanced statistical and computational methods.

  • Contribute to the development and validation of new aerosol sensors and instruments.

  • Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and presentations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate aerosol science into product development.

  • Support customers with virtual meetings, field research, and telephone/email contact.

  • Review relevant regulations and standards to ensure compliance of developed products.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest research and technological advancements in aerosol science.


Depending on your preferences and skills, there are also opportunities to gain exposure to technology conceptualization, business development and project proposals.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerosol Science, Atmospheric Science, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience may also be considered).

  • At least two years of relevant experience in research or measurement techniques.

  • Experience in aerosol research is considered a significant asset.

  • Strong background in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific methodology.

  • Experience with instrumentation, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in using statistical software and computational tools for data analysis and visualization (e.g., MATLAB, Python).

  • Experience with modeling and simulation is considered an asset (e.g., OpenFOAM).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on promoting an inclusive environment.

  • If seeking engineer title/designation, the applicant must be eligible to register with APEGA.

  • Legally allowed to work according to relevant Alberta and Canadian legislation and regulations.
